Grasshopper Games is a collective of anti-capitalist tabletop roleplaying game designers. In our game designing we center joy, play, process, collaboration, and community, rather than hierarchies, profit, efficiency, competition, or grind culture. We make games together for the joy and satisfaction of doing so, not to turn a profit. Inspired by Bernard Suits' book The Grasshopper, we believe that gaming, and game designing, can be a radical and utopic act that flies in the face of oppressive capitalist logics. Come, shed your ant worker self and be a grasshopper with us!

Daniel da Rosa

Daniel da Rosa is a Brazilian artist residing in São Paulo, with over a decade devoted to crafting his storytelling and gamedesigning skills. His academic background, including a Master's degree in Social History with a focus on witch hunts in the 16th century, has been instrumental in informing the depth of his work.

This, coupled with his experience writing for mods and published short stories, lays the groundwork for his projects. Dani has been playing RPG since he was 12, which was a long time ago, and favors fiction-first RPG designs and top-down gamedesign, but is also a big fan of strategic gaming.

While serving as a bureaucrat by day, his true calling lies in creating games, narratives and guiding friends and readers to fantastical realms through his works.

Miranda Fedock

Miranda Fedock is an anarchist living in New York City, where she takes care of a rambunctious corgi named Bilbo and is finishing a dissertation in ethnomusicology. She has been playing TTRPGs for a decade and making up stories for much longer. Her approach to game design is deeply collaborative and focuses on both the felt experiences of players and the broader sociocultural dynamics of a given game world. She also loves editing (like a total nerd). She is currently obsessed with solarpunk and speculative fiction more broadly as a necessary tool for getting free. In addition to game design, she is passionate about the transformative power of TTRPGs to build meaningful community across difference. She co-founded and helps run Uptown Enclave, a TTRPG community in uptown Manhattan that organizes financially accessible and inclusive open-table TTRPG events in the heart of neoliberal empire.

A lifelong tabletop RPG enthusiast, Lucas has been playing since the '90s and running games for over a decade. He runs weekly games at Manhattan’s largest board game store and is a co-founder of Uptown Enclave. Lucas’s adventure design blends immersive dynamics with practical usability, focusing on bold premises that remain adaptable at the table. He’s committed to creating games that don’t just look good on a shelf, but actually get played.
